The dreaded school lunches

With the school holidays slowly drawing to an end its time to start thinking about getting organised for going back to school. And the part that I dread the most would have to be school lunches. I always feel so guilty when I feel like i'm sending my daughter to school with the worlds most boring lunch box. But  I am simply not creative when it comes to that sort of thing. So this year I have decided to use the internet as my inspiration (Pinterest will certainly get a good workout) and try to spice up my daughters lunch box. No more Jam/Vegemite sandwiches (which she never eats anyway) with a piece of fruit some rice crackers and a bottle of water. It is a relatively healthy lunch but not very enticing. I have decided to meal plan the lunches so i'm never stuck for an idea with 10 minutes until the bus comes.

This page has so many great and healthy ideas! some wont work for me but then again some will. But with so much choice it could keep me going for weeks!!

Im feeling a bit better about my lunch quest now that i know that there is a lot of great places to go for idea's. Im thinking that a three compartment lunchbox is the way that im going to go. I hope they are not too expensive as Miss G is not very good at bringing this sort of thing back home. I might need to stock up.

Getting back into the swing of things.

After taking most of the year off, I am finally ready to return to the blogging world.
It feels like I have spent the year trying to struggle my way through this thing they call life, but for every step that I took forward in one area, I seem to have taken a step back in another. Trying to find the balance seems to be the biggest challenge.

We made ice-cream! (in under 5 minutes)




Its the 1st day of the school holidays and I was looking for something different to do with with Miss 8. After a bit of internet searching I found a quick an easy recipe for ice-cream! 


It might require a bit of forward planning if your not the sort of person who keeps lots of ice in the freezer (I used 4 trays worth of ice but it could have done with a bit more).

It's the last day of term!!

I know a lot of you will think that I'm crazy, but I LOVE school holidays! During the school term my house can get pretty chaotic with kids at school, me at Uni, assignments, after school activities etc. School holidays means that we can all relax!

weigh in 4

Its my 4th weigh in today and my 6th week of trying to lose those last pesky 4 kilos. Boy is this a slow and drawn out process! The weight is ever so slowly coming off which is a bit disappointing but at least its coming off. On the plus side all this healthy eating and exercise has helped change my mood. Life can be a bit tough as a mother of 3 little kidlets. Im sure i'm not alone when i say that some days are hard and some afternoons are measured in hours left until bedtime. On these days a quick run once the kids are in bed can make a huge difference to my mood. I have always been a fairly fit and healthy person and i'm starting to feel like my old self again. The fact that my youngest princess is sleeping through more often these days is probably also helping me feel normal, but i'm sure that most of the good vibes are coming from the exercise.

Piquing my Pinterest

This week I have been thinking a lot about healthy eating, and portion control. I started a new pin board for it, i called it Eat, Drink and be Merry. There is not a great deal on it at the moment as i have had a crazy week but i will keep adding to it as I am on a personal quest to lose weight, tone up and be able to wear a dress again.
