Piquing my Pinterest

This week I have been thinking a lot about healthy eating, and portion control. I started a new pin board for it, i called it Eat, Drink and be Merry. There is not a great deal on it at the moment as i have had a crazy week but i will keep adding to it as I am on a personal quest to lose weight, tone up and be able to wear a dress again.

weigh in 3

I missed weigh in last week. I was having some girls issues and felt bloated and just didn't feel like seeing how much bigger i was. I know its a silly reason but but when your feeling crappy I think its best to be kind to yourself.  So this weigh in is 14 days since my last. There has been a little change with is fantastic but more in cm's then in kilos. But im fine with that, as long as one of the numbers is heading in a downwards direction then I am doing something right.

Weigh in 2

Well it was weigh in day today, and i got some confusing results. I did a sneaky weigh in midweek and i was down to 63.2 kilos. I was pretty happy thinking that with a few more days maybe i could get down below 63. So this morning i grabbed my measuring tape and headed to the bathroom feeling certain that i was going to be pleased with myself. I started with the measurements and while a few were still the same as last week there were a few that were a bit smaller as well. This was helping me confirm my theory that I had lost some weight. I stepped up on to the scales i closed my eyes while the numbers settled... I opened them again to to reveal that i had put on a bit of a weight and not lost some.  I know my diet was pretty good this week and on treat day i still tried to count my calories and make sure that I didn't go over.

Weigh in 1

Well as promised I am back for my 1st weigh in and measurement.
Unfortunately I let the team down. While i did take more care of my food intake, I gave in to my night time cravings and still ate junk food before bed. Anyone who knows anything about losing weight knows that this is a HUGE no no! (If you are going to allow your self a treat its best eaten at lunchtime so you have a chance to work it off during the day)

Coming clean for the last 4 kilos

Well the silly season is all but over, NYE has come and gone and most of the junk food that was accumulated in my cupboard after all the get togethers, has almost all been eaten.
That means its time to tighten up my diet and get back into the swing of exercise. It was nice to have a break and eat all the naughty foods, but the scales tell me that a little bit of damage was done. The silly season has added almost a kilo to my body (very grateful that it was not A LOT worse).
I was/am feeling a little less than inspired so, as with everything i went to Pinterest to help me get motivated. I found some great inspirational posters and i will share my favourite ones with you.

My Weird Diet

In my house, there are some pretty strict rules when it comes to food. We eat a low fat, low Gi, Low sugar diet with only lean proteins. I know that it sounds like a fairly boring diet, i also know that my friends think that our food habits are a little odd. But it's really not as bad as it sounds, well at least i dont think it is. To me it is a little bit like the swap it campaign they seem to be advertising a lot at the moment, except we swap different things. In my house we swap white foods for brown, so thats brown bread, brown rice, brown (wholemeal) pasta. We swap full fat for low fat that includes everything from milk to salad dressing to soup. we swap junk food for healthy snacks (which is the part that kills me).

So... what does a normal day of food look like at my house?

Losing my baby weight

After i gave birth to my first baby, i pretty much just bounced back to my usual weight. I guess because it was my 1st baby and because 1 was still young (25) it was easy for my body to return to normal. Fast forward 5 years and i'm still looking like my usual self and wondering what everyone is talking about when they say they are struggling to get their pre-baby body back. Surely they were just being lazy?
